About The Event

This training will increase professional midwives’ overall competency in trauma informed care. Participants will learn evidence based strategies for supporting clients with a trauma history with appropriate screening, referral, and interventions for the prevention of further trauma. Participants will also learn psychoeducation related to trauma and the nervous system, identifying trauma responses and protecting against vicarious trauma. The training will use engaging and collaborative learning tools like case study, group discussion and practical application of evidence based interventions with clients.
